Born Into This explores the tension between innocence and the world we inherit. It asks difficult questions about violence, conflict, responsibility, and hope. Are we born into a cycle we cannot control, or do we have the power to create something different?

By combining a familiar gesture with unsettling imagery, the piece challenges viewers to reflect on the contradictions of modern life and the realities that future generations are forced to navigate.

As with much of Scott Rohlfs' work, the painting offers no definitive answer. Instead, it invites conversation, contemplation, and personal interpretation.
